Masculinity Includes Mental Health
When we think about masculinity, we often picture a strong man who’s willing to sacrifice and be the sturdy foundation of his home all while seemingly being unwavering in the face of turmoil and obstacles. In reality, masculinity should represent men who are willing to open up their perspective on what they “should and shouldn't” do; modern masculinity encompasses the idea that a man can have his own identity, be vulnerable about his feelings, and take measures to care for his mental health when they face of hardship.

What Makes A Man?
Many things make a man, but what is truly important has to come from the individual and not what the world around them believes. With so many factors playing into everyday life, it can be difficult to constantly keep up the “strong guy mask” when all you want is to have a safe space to process your feelings. Men often get left out of the mental health community simply because there is a stigma that they should feel their feelings in private and still give 100% no matter their circumstances. For many men, the harsh reality is that there is no place for them to escape when they are feeling stressed and overwhelmed because of this negative stereotype. It’s time that we take matters into our own hands and begin making mental health a priority amongst men so that future generations can be raised more healthily and happily.

How Men’s Therapy Can Help You
Therapy can be your greatest tool if you know how to use it. Everyone says that therapy is only required when you are going through something traumatic, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. When you attend therapy, you are making a promise to yourself that you can and will be better with a little bit of time and a lot of patience. Let’s be honest, it can be scary to think about opening up to a stranger about what puts you on edge or how difficult your life may feel, but it can be an investment that is worth making. In the end, you may realize that the way to becoming a better man is by being dedicated to yourself and making the commitment to be healthier, even when others around you don’t find it necessary. Here are some of the areas that you can may explore in therapy sessions:
