Depression In Men
San Diego based Therapy for Men Across California
49% of men feel more depressed than they are willing to admit to the people in their lives - it doesn’t need to be this way!
Therapy is a place where you can drop the facade, get vulnerable, and receive the help that you deserve. Many men suffer in silence, but with a trained therapist who utilizes evidenced based interventions, things CAN get better. Everyone goes through depressive episodes at one point or another in their life. Some men believe that depression can only exist in the ways that society traditionally classifies it: uncontrollable crying spells, an inability to get out of bed to do daily tasks, and feeling a sense of worthlessness. While all of those symptoms may be true of a depressed person, sometimes men feel depression in a different way.
Some common symptoms of “man” depression include:
Anger and irritability.
Feeling on edge.
Feeling sad, empty, hopeless, or flat.
Withdrawing from friends, family members, and loved ones.
Loss of interest in things you once found pleasure in.
Feeling overtired or having difficulty sleeping.
Problems with sexual desire or performance.
Thoughts of suicide or believing the world would be a better place without you.
A need for alcohol or drugs.
Difficulty focusing or concentrating.
Don't be "that guy" who's too tough to ask for help. Be the man who gets the help he needs for himself AND the people around him.
You deserve it.
